Photo By Eduardo Sanz\/Europa Press via Getty Images<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>Partial eclipses are much more common but only occur every few years in any one country.<\/p><p>So it&#8217;s something of a celestial coincidence that Spain will enjoy six solar eclipses \u2013 two of them total solar eclipses and one a &#8216;ring of fire&#8217; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skyatnightmagazine.com\/space-science\/annular-solar-eclipse\">annular solar eclipse<\/a> \u2013 between 2025 and 2030.<\/p><p>In fact, 2027 will see two solar eclipses over Spain, and only 2029 will be an eclipse-free year.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c02.purpledshub.com\/uploads\/sites\/48\/2024\/05\/GettyImages-1708233716-1024x683.jpg?fit=800%2C534\" alt=\"Annular solar eclipse captured from Nerja, Andalusia, south of Spain. Credit: NASA\/Fred Espenak\/eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov<\/figcaption><\/figure><p><strong>When:<\/strong> 12 August 2026\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Type:<\/strong> total solar eclipse<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeanddate.com\/eclipse\/map\/2026-august-12\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><em>Map<\/em><\/a><\/p><p>Russia, Greenland, Iceland and Spain will see a short total solar eclipse on this day, with Spain at the sunset end of the path of totality. The 186-mile (300-kilometre) wide path will cross from the northwest to the Balearic Islands, with totality lasting a maximum of 1 minute 49 seconds in Spain.<\/p><p>The Sun will set partially eclipsed in all of eastern Spain, with the Balearics witnessing totality just before the Sun sets. Key cities in totality include Bilbao, Burgos, Valladolid, Zaragoza and Valencia. Credit: NASA\/Fred Espenak\/eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov<\/figcaption><\/figure><p><strong>When:<\/strong> 6 February, 2027<\/p><p><strong>Type:<\/strong> partial solar eclipse<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeanddate.com\/eclipse\/map\/2027-february-6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Map<\/em><\/a><\/p><p>This will be little more than a technical solar eclipse, with only the southern tips of Spain able to glimpse a tiny fraction of the sun being blocked by the Moon.<\/p><p>An annular solar eclipse &#8216;ring of fire&#8217; for parts of Chile, Argentina and the west coast of Africa, from Andalucia in Spain, a roughly 1% partially eclipsed Sun will be seen just before sunset from the southwest coast of Andalusia.\u00a0<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-total-solar-eclipse-2027\"><strong>Total solar eclipse 2027<\/strong><\/h2><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full has-lightbox\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1121\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/c02.purpledshub.com\/uploads\/sites\/48\/2024\/05\/eclipse-map-2-august-2027.jpg\" alt=\"Map showing the path of the solar eclipse on 2 August 2027\" class=\"wp-image-156400\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Map showing the path of the solar eclipse on 2 August 2027. However, totality will also be experienced in southern Spain and Gibraltar.<\/p><p>Key locations in Spain in the path will include Cadiz, Malaga, Ronda, Marbella and Tarifa. The latter will see the longest totality at 4 minutes 46 seconds. Credit: NASA\/Fred Espenak\/eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov<\/figcaption><\/figure><p><strong>When:<\/strong> 26 January 2028<\/p><p><strong>Type:<\/strong> annular solar eclipse\u00a0<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeanddate.com\/eclipse\/map\/2028-january-26\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"><em>Map<\/em><\/a><\/p><p>After two spectacular total solar eclipses for Spain comes a &#8216;ring of fire&#8217; annular solar eclipse. Seen across South America, it will be seen about eight degrees above the horizon as seen from the coast of southwest Spain.<\/p><p>The longest Spanish view of the &#8216;ring of fire&#8217; will be from Playa de Castilla, at 7 minutes 16 seconds, though inland Seville will get 7 minutes 8 seconds and Cadiz to the south 6 minutes 37 seconds. Less than 18 months after witnessing a sunset totality, Mallorca will see a &#8216;ring of fire&#8217; sinking into the Mediterranean.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-partially-eclipsed-sunrise-2030\"><strong>Partially eclipsed sunrise 2030<\/strong><\/h2><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full has-lightbox\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1121\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/c02.purpledshub.com\/uploads\/sites\/48\/2024\/05\/eclipse-map-1-june-2030.jpg\" alt=\"Map showing the path of the solar eclipse on 1 June 2030.
