The German wolf population has been rising by a quarter each year

Ruthlessly persecuted, wolves have been extinct across vast swathes of central Europe for centuries. But they are now making a comeback in Germany. We join native zoologist and photographer Axel Gomille as he tracks down wild wolves on the unlikely refuges of military training grounds and explores why not everybody is happy to live side-by-side with this iconic predator.
