BANDED DEMOISELLE

This male banded demoiselle revealed his vibrant metallic colouring while drying off the night’s dew. As he was still in a state of torpor, I was able to set up a tripod and get this shot. It’s always a pleasure to capture these spectacular insects when they arrive back on the scene and it was well worth getting up so early for this opportunity.
