PRIZE-WINNING PHOTO
Harvest-time hare
I was seeking sunset images of hares when I encountered this stunning hare in a local field of barley stubble. The sun had set behind me and the field was bathed in soft muted light, which allowed the details of the beautiful fur to come out and work in harmony with the colours of the stubble. When it heard the shutter, it fixed me with this intense stare.

Precious cargo
I always visit the same special place when I return home to Ramdurg. I love it because of its biodiversity. I was exploring an ant colony at night when I saw some weaver ants carrying larvae to a nest. Krishna Devangamath, Karnataka, India

Day at the zoo
I took this photo while I was visiting Bristol Zoo. It was a nice surprise because I don’t come across goldcrests very often. They are extremely fast and unpredictable, but fortunately it was a glorious sunny day that allowed me to shoot at quite a high speed. Giorgio Pede, Bristol
