Tripod the lion
In 2016, a young lioness in Zambia lost a back leg to a poacher’s snare. Despite the odds, Tripod – as she became known – has survived, supported by her smallbut-loyal pride and by the efforts of local conservationists. Photographer Mike Dexter travels to Kafue National Park to tell the story of this determined lioness, who has become an emblem for the ongoing fight against poaching.
