Making a splash
Marine biologist Todd Pusser shares images of the world’s lesser-known dolphins in June 2001 – many of his shots were taken while on research trips. The cover image features a dusky dolphin ‘tail-walking’ – leaping of the water vertically and moving backwards on its tail. Pusser reveals his ambition is to photograph a spectacled porpoise and shepherd’s beaked whale: “More people have seen the Loch Ness monster than either of these species, and to photograph them in their natural environment would highlight just how much we still have to learn.”
