The rescued common seal pups – Pop-Up-Pirate, Kerplunk and Frustration – are building their fat reserves before being released back into UK seas.
Mallydams Wood, an RSPCA wildlife hospital and rehabilitation centre in East Sussex, England, are nearly ready to return their first three common seal pups of the season to the wild.
The three youngsters – called Pop-Up-Pirate, Kerplunk and Frustration – are getting stronger and building up their fat reserves every day. Now, they’ve been moved to the ‘deep seal pool’ and are in the final stage of rehabilitation.
“It’s really important to have a pool that allows full range of underwater motion – twisting, turning, bottling and darting around,” says the Mallydams team on Instagram.
