BOBCAT by Vishal Subramanyan, California, USA A friend and I went searching for bobcats, but after hiking for a few hours, we hadn’t seen any. Just as we turned back, we spotted two – a mother and her kitten. The kitten was initially obscured, but then suddenly appeared in the fork of this tree.

CATERPILLAR Anil Kumar Verma, Maharashtra, India During our visit to Sanjay Gandhi National Park my wife and I spotted this caterpillar, which was so well camouflaged that it took us some time to make out. It was kind enough to let us get some good shots before it left to munch on some leaves.
