Snatch a salmon <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n

During the salmon run at Brooks Falls in Alaska, the brown bears often look rather bewildered as a conveyor belt of \u2018sushi\u2019 comes flying past. There are so many fish and most are missed, but just occasionally a bear will catch one in mid-air. It was a glorious summer\u2019s day and this bear had three fish leaping up the falls at the same time. Only two made it past his open mouth! <\/p>\n\n

Eat, sleep, play, repeat <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n

Laying still in the kelp behind a rock, watching these otters on the Isle of Mull was an honour. Catching a variety of fish to eat then playing together in the water was clearly exhausting and afterwards they crashed out. <\/p>\n\n

Within seconds of leaving the car at RSPB Marshside I spotted a little head peeking at me through the grass. I raised my camera and it took flight \u2013 afemale sparrowhawk. With low, bright sun behind me I could use a fast shutter speed. Lucky me. <\/p>\n\n

Jelly blubber lover <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n

If you\u2019re brave (and wear a wetsuit!) you can swim with jelly blubbers at Cabbage Tree Bay, Sydney. It\u2019s an otherworldly experience as you navigate the heavy bells and watch sun rays pass through the semitransparent jellyfish bodies. <\/p>\n\n

I saw this group of spotted deer in Kanha National Park, India while on a morning safari. I framed the shot to contain the trees, morning light, curving track and all five deer. <\/p>\n\n

An ant-mimicking crab spider (Amyciaea forticeps) <\/em>mimics weaver ants in order to prey on them. It will hold its front pair of legs aloft like this to imitate the ant\u2019s antennae. <\/p>\n\n

Lucky escape <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n

This blood python was found eating chickens on a farm in Thailand. Our friend, a park ranger, rescued it from the local people and we placed it in water to relax and cool down before releasing it deeper into the jungle, far away from anyone. <\/p>\n\n
