<\/p>
The robin<\/a> is reckoned to be Britain\u2019s most popular bird and is also one of the most familiar. Dig some earth and a resident robin might come close to see what food you\u2019ve uncovered.<\/p>\n Robin-to-robin interactions are often less amicable. Strongly territorial, a robin will sing, posture by puffing its red chest and \u2013 if necessary \u2013 fight to hold its ground.<\/p>\n Researchers from Anglia Ruskin University<\/a> and Ko\u00e7 University in<\/a> Turkey used a robin model and recordings of songs to measure aggression between territorial robins and intruders in rural and urban settings.<\/p>\n This showed that town robins are typically more aggressive than country ones.
