So why aren\u2019t we dancing in the streets?<\/a><\/p>\n<p> <\/p><\/div> <\/section> <p>But such unintended behavioural consequences inevitably feed into judgements about whether this highly invasive procedure is worthwhile. Remarkably, perhaps, there is little hard evidence either way.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo one\u2019s put all the data together to say whether it\u2019s a really effective measure,\u201d says Duth\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>What is clear is that the introduction of de-horning has coincided with a decline in poaching, she says.
