Such rare, chance events may well be biologically important, given that freshwater species have few other dispersal options available to them.<\/p><ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwildlife.com\/how-to\/identify-wildlife\/how-to-identify-moulting-ducks\">How to identify moulting ducks<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwildlife.com\/animal-facts\/birds\/ducks-of-the-uk\">Ducks of the UK: how to identify, behaviours and when to see them<\/a><\/li><\/ul><p>Some freshwater invertebrates are thought to actively seek out birds&#8217; feet.
