Rafael Fern\u00e1ndez Caballero has been named the\u00a0Ocean Photographer of the Year 2024\u00a0for his spectacular image of a rare Bryde\u2019s whale<\/a> about to consume a heart-shaped ball of fish.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

\u201cThe image captures perhaps the most special \u2013 and craziest \u2013 moment of my life. It fills me with joy having lived this moment \u2013 and to have captured the image,\u201d says\u00a0Caballero.<\/p>

Caballero\u2019s photo was chosen from more than 15,000 submissions from some of the world\u2019s finest coastal, drone, surf and underwater photographers.\u00a0Find out who else was awarded prizes in this year’s competition with our gallery of winning images.<\/p>
