A new Oxford-led study has concluded that the previously proposed UK Hunting Trophies (Import Prohibition) Bill could cause more harm than good for the species it is intended to protect. <\/p>

Oxford researchers have shared their findings from a study into the UK\u2019s role in the international\u00a0hunting trophy\u00a0trade.<\/strong><\/p>

The study, led by the University of Oxford\u2019s Department of Biology and the Oxford Martin\u00a0Programme\u00a0on Wildlife Trade<\/a>, concluded that the previously proposed UK Hunting Trophies (Import Prohibition) Bill could\u00a0cause more harm than good for the species it is intended to protect.<\/p>

Currently under UK law, body parts of elephants<\/a>, bears, lions<\/a>, hippos<\/a> and zebras<\/a> are among those allowed to be brought back from hunting trips.<\/p>
