They use their long, thin limbs to walk along the seafloor without getting stuck in the sediment, and to swim through the water. But their legs have some other bizarre uses. \u201cTheir bodies are so small that all their organs are stored in their legs,\u201d says OceanX. Females even store eggs in their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalgeographic.com\/animals\/article\/oceans-sea-spiders-legs-heart\">legs<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p> <p>&#8220;They also absorb oxygen in the water through their leg <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverwildlife.com\/animal-facts\/what-is-an-exoskeleton\">exoskeletons<\/a>,\u201d adds OceanX.<\/p> <p>Perhaps the most horrifying thing about these animals is how they eat. Sea spiders use a tube called a proboscis to feed on soft-bodied animals, such as worms or sea anemones.
