Campagnolo has grown its accessories range with a new waterproof backpack that can be used on or off the bike.
The new backpack sits alongside Campagnolo’s casual wear range and the Ekar-branded collection of bikepacking bags, made in collaboration with Miss Grape.
The brand says the backpack seeks to offer a balance between protection against the elements, functionality, style and design.
The cycling-specific backpack features an adjustable chest strap and a removable abdominal belt for support on the bike.
Its 18-litre volume is made up of an easily accessible outer pocket, a side pocket, a large inner compartment and two document holders (one outer and one inner).
The side pocket is deep and flexible enough to hold a 750ml water bottle. Campagnolo says you can use the larger inner compartment for storing shoes, spare clothes or office gear, if you’re cycling to work.
There’s also room to mount a helmet, shoes or jacket on the outer webbed support of the backpack.
The wet weather protection stems from a waterproof TPU body that Campagnolo integrates into the polyester material, as well as the water-resistant zips.
To reduce the prospect of a sweaty back, Campagnolo says the rear cushioning has been positioned to increase airflow, while there are also reflective Campagnolo logos to keep you seen when cycling at night.
The bag looks to have the thoughtful attention to detail typical of Campagnolo, but we’ll have to wait and see whether this is the precursor to a more significant launch from the Italian brand this year.
The backpack is priced at €159.50 and available now.
