The new Revel Ranger has been updated with a redesigned rear triangle, a SRAM Universal Derailleur Hanger and an all-new link and hardware package, which promises smoother performance and easier maintenance.

The Revel Ranger rolls on 29in wheels and its carbon frame offers 115mm of rear-suspension travel, paired with a 120mm fork. The bike also gets fresh paint, and mechanic-friendly bottom bracket and cable routing.

The new Revel Ranger – stiffer and easier to work on

Revel claims that, by optimising the carbon layup, it has increased the stiffness of the Ranger’s rear triangle by 20 per cent with no increase in weight.

The linkage has also been revamped, boosting lateral stiffness while also increasing tyre and chainring clearance.

Making the most of the opportunity to redesign the Ranger’s rear end, Revel has also beefed up the hardware holding it together, opting for a collet axle and larger 15mm bearings for the lower rearward pivot.

Revel claims these design changes should make the new Ranger stiffer, smoother and easier to maintain.

Revel has also made sure to future-proof the new Ranger, adopting SRAM’s Universal Derailleur Hanger to ensure the bike is ready for the latest crop of SRAM Transmission drivetrains.

Revel

Revel has retained the previous Ranger’s threaded bottom bracket, simplifying maintenance.

The fully guided internal cable routing routes into the bike via ports in the head tube, meaning cables are also simple to replace and easy to access.

New Revel Ranger geometry

Revel

The new Revel Ranger is available in four sizes from small to extra-large.

The geometry of the bike is broadly similar to the original Ranger, which launched in 2020.

The new Ranger still has a 67.5-degree head angle and a 75.3-degree effective seat angle across the size range.

The reach and wheelbase range from 430 to 498mm and 1,146 to 1,223mm respectively. A 436mm chainstay length is shared across all sizes.
