Gravel riding is booming, with more riders taking to drop-bar, knobbly-tyred bikes than ever – but what’s next for the burgeoning gravel scene?

Welcome back for another mini-series on the BikeRadar Podcast, this time discussing the future of gravel.

It wouldn’t be BikeRadar if we didn’t chat about shiny tech developments in the off-road world but, over the course of four episodes, we’re also going to explore how gravel riding and gravel racing are evolving, as well as the role of new off-road communities.

But first, it’s time to set the scene. Why is gravel booming and how did we get here?

Our host for the series, gravel aficionado Katherine Moore, is joined for episode one by BikeRadar’s deputy editor, Jack Luke, and Ben Delaney, one of the pioneers of the US gravel scene, to discuss the genesis of gravel and take a look into the BikeRadar crystal ball.
