Happy Amazon Prime Day to all who celebrate
Benevolent Bezos has looked down kindly upon bargain hounds the world over and bestowed upon us a smorgasbord of deals this Amazon Prime Day.
Jesting aside, there are good deals of interest to cycling tech nerds to be found amid cut-price air fryers, champagne and hard drives.
These are the Amazon Prime Day cycling deals that have caught the eye of this tight-fisted Scot unwilling to pay RRP on anything.
Though we’ve done our homework, I’d always recommend checking your favourite retailer to ensure you’re not missing out on a better price elsewhere (or, better yet, look for cheaper and greener used equivalents on eBay).
Save up to 35% on Park Tool tools
The savings are modest but a swathe of Park Tool’s range is on sale this Amazon Prime Day.
Highlights include the PCS-9.3 workstand (£135.99), DAG-3 hanger alignment tool (£109.99) and CG-2.4 chain cleaning system (£27.99).
That’s about as cheap as you’ll get these tools anywhere online, with the added benefit of free next-day delivery for Prime members. If you’ve been eyeing up any of these tools for a while, now could be a good time to buy.
Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit U-lock – £119.99 £79.99
This Sold Secure Diamond-rated lock is available for only £79.99 – a 33 per cent saving on RRP.
Amazon describes this as a ‘Prime Exclusive Deal’, and that appears to stand up to scrutiny – similar locks, such as this one sold by Sigma Sports, are only Gold-rated.
Only BikeParts.co.uk comes close at an oddly specific £91.57 for the Diamond-rated version.
Semantics aside, this looks like a good deal for a dependable bike lock.
XLC spoke ruler and ball bearing gauge – £14.99 £5.20
A ruler is hardly a product likely to set the heart racing, but options such as this, which include a hook for measuring spokes and ball bearing gauges, are invaluable in a workshop.
Better still, this neat one from XLC is only a little over a fiver – a 65 per cent saving on RRP.
Save 20% on Redshift products
Redshift has reduced the price of most of its range of comfort-improving stems, handlebars and other products by 20 per cent.
We rated the brand’s Shockstop seatpost and stem at four stars each when we reviewed them, praising their effective bump-absorption and simple setup.
If you’re looking to make the bumping a little less ugly on your gravel bike, these are worth a look.
Save up to 51% on Panaracer gravel bike tyres
An interesting selection of Panaracer gravel tyres, including its fun limited-edition colourful GravelKing tyres, are on sale this Prime Day.
The size selection is, admittedly, limited for some options but – if they work for you and your bike – you should be able to pick up a mega bargain.
iFixit Manta precision bit set – £54.99 £46.74
A micro screwdriver kit is an invaluable investment for obsessive tinkerers and fixers.
iFixit popularised the concept with its Manta kits, which are available for £46.74 this Prime Day.
I included a rip-off version of the kit from Lidl in my 2023 Gear of the Year round-up.
This was significantly cheaper than the iFixit kit but, if you can’t wait for a middle-aisle gem, this deal is worth considering.
