2023 Women’s WorldTour team bikes and equipment | Who’s riding what?

All the bikes and components used by the 15 Women’s WorldTour teams in 2023

Women’s racing is on the ascendant, with increasing interest and more money flowing into the sport.

With last year’s return of the Tour de France Femmes, there are now women’s versions of all three grand tours and the majority of one-day and shorter stage races also have a women’s version.

Here, we take a look through the bikes and components of the Women’s WorldTour, including key trends for 2023 and headline component swaps.

But first, here are a few trends in the bikes of the Women’s WorldTour teams and an overview of how spec trends compare to the men’s WorldTour.

A lot more SRAM, no Campagnolo

In the men’s WorldTour, Shimano dominates the groupset choices of the 18 teams, with only four teams not using Shimano Dura-Ace: three on SRAM and one Campagnolo.

In the Women’s WorldTour, things are a lot more even between SRAM and Shimano. Seven of the 15 teams run SRAM Red AXS and the other eight are running Shimano Dura-Ace.

It’s surprising not to see a single Campagnolo-sponsored Women’s WorldTour team, even if the brand’s involvement in men’s racing has also been dwindling over the years. It’s down to one team from three last year, despite the brand formerly dominating pro racing.

There’s more diversity in other equipment as well.

Time Pedals are specced more commonly in the Women’s WorldTour than the men’s – only Trek-Segafredo uses Time pedals among the men’s teams, whereas there are three women’s teams using them.

Factor

Wahoo Speedplay is used by three women’s teams and two men’s teams.

Look pedals are comparatively lightly used by women’s teams, with two teams using the Kéo Blade, as against six men’s teams.

The Women’s WorldTour presents an opportunity for bike brands other than those represented in the men’s racing too. Felt, Dare and Factor are rubbing shoulders with Canyon, which has three teams on its bikes, and Giant’s Liv with two.

SRAM is co-sponsor of this team, so as you’d expect, it’s a SRAM-heavy build for Canyon//SRAM. That includes the full roster of SRAM brands – so not just a SRAM Red AXS groupset, but also Zipp wheels, Time pedals and a Hammerhead computer.

Ergon provides the saddles. It’s a brand that isn’t heavily represented in the road bike saddles market, with its range geared heavily towards mountain bike and urban use.

EF Education-Tibco-SVB rides Cannondale’s latest, high-spec LAB71 SuperSix EVO bike. It’s equipped with components from FSA and its Vision sub-brand, including bars and wheels. FSA also supplies the cranks and chainrings, with a 4iiii power meter fitted.

Riders can choose between tubeless and tubular setups. Alison Jackson, winner of Paris-Roubaix this year, chose 28mm Vittoria Corsa tubeless tyres for Strade Bianche Donne, while Letizia Borghesi chose 28mm Corsa tubular tyres for the Tour of Flanders.

FDJ-Suez (FST)

FJD-Suez uses a similar setup to the equivalent men’s team, with the Lapierre Aircode aero road bike as its main ride.

The bikes are equipped with Shimano Dura-Ace components, including the groupset, wheels and pedals.

Canyon is the main equipment sponsor of the women’s Fenix-Deceuninck team, the sister to the Alpecin-Fenix men’s team.

Its roster of other equipment is the same as the men’s team too, with Shimano groupsets and wheels, Vittoria tyres and Wahoo computers.

The Human Powered Health women’s WorldTour team rides Felt AR aero bikes or the lightweight FR.

It’s another team on SRAM Red AXS and has Vision bars and wheels on its bikes. It uses Wahoo Speedplay Aero pedals with their dimpled lower surface claimed to add an aero advantage. Its bike computers also come from Wahoo, while its lightweight bottle cages are from American brand Arundel.

Israel Premier Tech Roland (CGS)

Whereas the Israel Premier Tech men’s team is UCI ProTeam level, the women’s Israel Premier Tech Roland team is in the Women’s WorldTour.

Both teams mainly ride the Factor Ostro VAM lightweight/aero bike equipped with a Rotor Aldhu chainset and an otherwise-Shimano groupset.

Wheels come from Factor’s Black Inc sister brand, while the team has swapped from Maxxis to Goodyear tubeless tyres this year. It’s a second team that uses the Hammerhead Karoo 2 computer.

Sponsored by Liv, Liv Racing TeqFind is on an almost-all Giant-family bike, mainly riding the Langma Advanced SL (although the team has also ridden the Enviliv Advanced Pro aero bike in early-season racing).

The bikes are equipped with Cadex wheels and tyres, and Cadex saddles. Drivetrains are SRAM Red AXS, although the team uses Shimano Dura-Ace pedals rather than Time.

Movistar Team (MOV)

Movistar is another women’s team with a SRAM-dominated setup.

Its Canyon bikes are equipped with Zipp wheels, SRAM Red AXS groupsets and SRAM power meters. Unlike other SRAM-equipped women’s WorldTour teams though, it’s not using Time pedals, sticking with Look and mirroring the Movistar men’s team’s bikes.

Team DSM (DSM)

Team DSM is another team that has the same setup for its women’s and men’s teams. That means the Scott Foil RC aero road bike and Scott Plasma RC time trial bike. Both are set up with Shimano Dura-Ace drivetrains and wheels fitted with Vittoria tyres.

Other components come from Scott-owned Syncros, and the team uses Elite bottle cages and Wahoo Elemnt Bolt computers, although without the standard aero mount, because the Foil mount is a less integrated design.

Team Jayco AlUla (JAY)

Like the men’s team, Jayco-AlUla women’s team is on a Giant-heavy configuration this year.

That includes not just the latest-generation Enviliv aero road bike from Giant’s women’s-specific Liv brand, but also wheels and components – and even tyres and saddles – from Giant’s Cadex performance brand.

Giant makes it a full house with its cycling computers. Only the groupset and pedals are not from Giant; they’re Shimano Dura-Ace.

Team Jumbo-Visma (TJV)

The women’s Jumbo-Visma team rides the full range of Cervélo performance bikes. That includes the S5 aero road bike and the R5 lightweight road bike, as well as a range of more specialist machines.

All are equipped with SRAM components, a replacement for Shimano, which was the main supplier last year. Wheels come from Reserve, a Cervélo sister brand, with the main Reserve 52/63 wheelset having differential front and rear wheel depths and profiles to up the aero gains, while maintaining stability in gusty conditions.

Team SD Worx was ranked number one in the women’s WorldTour last year. It’s riding a mostly-Specialized bike this time, with Roval wheels.

It’s another team using SRAM components: the drivetrain is SRAM Red AXS and it uses Time pedals. Its computers are from Garmin though, rather than SRAM-owned Hammerhead.

Trek-Segafredo (TFS)

The Trek-Segafredo women’s team’s headline bike is the head-turning Trek Madone SLR, with Bontrager Aeolus wheels and Pirelli tyres.

The team has the whole range of other top-end Trek bikes available, including the lightweight Émonda SLR for hillier courses and the Domane SLR for heavy-duty cobbled races, such as Paris-Roubaix.

As with SD Worx, the rest of the team’s equipment comes from SRAM and its brands, with a SRAM Red AXS groupset and power meter. It’s another team on Time pedals this year and uses Wahoo bike computers.

UAE Team ADQ has swapped much of its componentry this year, with Shimano groupsets in place of Campagnolo on its Colnago V4Rs bikes. It’s also riding on ENVE wheels this year, with Continental tyres in place of last year’s Campagnolo Bora wheels shod with Pirelli tyres.

Uno-X Pro Cycling ride bikes from Norwegian brand Dare: the MA-AFO lightweight bike and the VSRu aero road bike. Both have own-brand Dare Vetox bars, but the TSRf time trial bike is equipped with bars from Wattshop.

Other equipment includes DT Swiss wheels with Schwalbe tubeless tyres and Shimano Dura-Ace drivetrains.
