5 reasons to visit the Cycle Show 2022

The Cycle Show is back at Alexandra Palace in London in April 2022, following 10 years at Birmingham’s NEC.

Talks from cycling legends past and present, advice from Shimano Steps and the chance to ride the bikes on show are all included in the admission fee.

The first women’s Paris-Roubaix winner, Lizzie Deignan, leads a star-studded guest line-up.

Specialized, SRAM, Canyon and more of the biggest cycling brands will also be stallholders.

You’ll be able to test out their latest tech, gizmos and equipment, and taste new nutrition products.

A ticket also gets you into the inaugural London ebike Festival, which runs alongside The Cycle Show.

1. New bikes galore

New road bikes on show will include the BMC Roadmachine featuring SRAM’s Force eTap AXS 12-speed groupset, Cannondale’s new Synapse and the Ribble SL R.

And there’s more – pore over the Vitus ZX-1 Evo and LIOS Bullet Disc Rival AXS, which both scored 4.5 out of 5 in recent BikeRadar tests.

Turning off the tarmac, there’s a stellar mountain bike cast. The Athertons will be speaking, as well as showing off their AM.150 Enduro and AM.200 Enduro bikes.

Canyon is bringing the Canyon Spectral, while GT Bicycles and Propain will be in attendance too.

There’s a tarmac test track for trying out the best commuter bikes and best road bikes on show.

The two-mile woodland loop is the place to put mountain bikes, gravel bikes and ebikes through their paces.

3. Pick up new skills

If you find your technique is lacking on the laps or just want to improve overall, you can brush up at the Cycle Show’s skills sessions.

Learn how to perform manuals, jumps and drop-offs, and perfect BMX race starts on the Cycle Show skills course.

Shimano Steps will also be on hand to offer technical advice for ebike riders.

4. Listen to and meet cycling greats

The all-star line-up at this year’s Cycle Show boasts an incredible seven Paris-Roubaix titles, most recently for Lizzie Deignan.

Four-time winner Tom Boonen and Sean Kelly – the 1984 and 1986 champion – will also be speaking.

Current road-racing pros include British champion Pfeiffer Georgi.

The endurance end of the sport is also covered. Hear from long-distance legends Mark Beaumont and Emily Chappell.

Downhill racing ace Greg Minnaar, and Dan, Gee and Rachel Atherton are there for the mountain biking fans.
