The Fox Transfer SL dropper post is now available with 125mm- and 150mm-travel options.

Previously, the maximum travel of the dropper post was 100mm in a 31.6mm diameter, limiting the drop on offer for taller riders.

The dropper is available in two versions. The Performance Elite will cost £369 / $329 / €449 / AU$549. The Factory version costs £419 / $399 / €519 / AU$639 and features titanium hardware that Fox says saves 10g.

A Kashima coating is also used on the Factory shaft, which through a process of anodisation makes it less prone to corrosion, while reducing friction.

Fox claims the SL is 25 per cent lighter than its standard Transfer dropper post, starting at 327g for a 27.2mm-diameter post.

The additional lengths mean the Transfer SL is now available in 50mm, 70mm, 75mm, 100mm, 125mm and 150mm-travel options. The two new lengths will only be available in the 31.6mm diameter.

Fox’s Transfer SL uses a two-position system, locking only at the top and bottom of the dropper shaft in the quest for weight saving.

This differs from other posts on the market that can be locked at any point on the shaft.

Mechanical actuation is used to operate the dropper and is compatible with SRAM Matchmaker and Shimano I-Spec mounts, as well as Shimano’s GRX drop-bar dropper lever.

Fox says it chose mechanical actuation for weight savings, because hydraulic systems – such as that found on the RockShox Reverb – require extra seals to keep the hydraulic fluid where it belongs.

The post supports 7mm and 7x9mm oval saddle rails.
