The new Fox Union mountain bike shoe range includes two clipless models, with either Boa dials or laces, and a lace-up flat-pedal shoe.

This is a first for the brand, which is well-known for its mountain bike helmets and body protection.

Fox says its new mountain bike shoes have spent two years in the design and development stage, taking feedback from amateur riders as well as professionals such as Greg Minnaar and Nina Hoffmann.

All shoes will be available in black, grey, red and tan.

The Fox Racing Union Flat is – as the name suggests – designed for flat pedals. It has what Fox is calling an Ultratac sole. This features hex-shaped lugs, which Fox claims help with pedal engagement.

The Union Flat costs £129.99 / $149.95 / €149.99 and is made using a welded construction that should keep trail spray from seeping through to your socks. This differs from other designs that use stitching, which allows for water ingress.

Fox uses a one-piece upper in its design, which it says provides a consistent fit while also boosting durability.

The moulded toe cap and reinforced toe box add protection from rock strikes, according to Fox.
