We pit the Canyon Lux vs the Trail in our latest video
Can a gravel bike go faster than a mountain bike on the trails? In our latest video, we put them head-to-head to find out.
In the gravel corner, we have the Canyon Grizl, a burly gravel bike with wide tyres and a suspension fork. In the trail corner, we have the Canyon Lux mountain bike.
Given the Grizl has no rear suspension, we’ve chosen a course of mainly blue mountain bike trails without any large drops to make the contest as fair as possible.
The varied terrain in the Forest of Dean, in the south west of England, gives each bike a chance to shine. Technical editor-in-chief Rob Weaver finds accelerating and climbing faster on the Grizl but rooty downhills much easier on the Lux.
After revealing which bike won narrowly, Rob also analyses each bike’s strengths and weaknesses.
Watch the video to find out the winner (and witness Rob weaving masterfully between trees and round loose corners).
