Welcome to ebike week on BikeRadar.

Electric bike technology has developed at a pace over the past decade and motor-assisted bicycles now span just about every cycling discipline, from electric mountain bikes and e-road bikes, to electric hybrids and turbo-charged electric gravel bikes.

According to the latest figures, ebikes now account for 23 per cent of all bicycle sales, and we’ve ramped up our electric bike coverage accordingly.

In fact, we’ve reviewed more than 175 electric bikes on BikeRadar. This year, we added an eMTB category to our 2022 Bike of the Year mega-test, with Alex Evans taking charge of this booming segment in conjunction with MBUK magazine, while Warren Rossiter has been getting to grips with the latest electric road, gravel and commuting bikes for BikeRadar and Cycling Plus.

The best electric bikes have the power to change lives, whether encouraging new cyclists to take up the sport we love, or playing an integral part in how the world views urban mobility. They can break down barriers, provide the blueprint for a sustainable future and, ultimately, put smiles on faces.

Over the next seven days, we’ll be celebrating all things ebike and, with that, serving up a spread of electric bike content through the week.

We’ll bring you in-depth buyer’s guides, expert advice on how to get the most from your machine, reviews of the latest models to hit the market and analysis of the role of electric bikes in the future of transport.

On top of that, we’ll be hearing from riders whose lives have been transformed by ebikes, as well as shining a light on the brands changing the game when it comes to electric bike technology.

Stay tuned through the week for more – or head to BikeRadar’s electric bike hub for the latest ebike content.
