Updated map interface enables users to explore popular routes around a set location
Komoot has added a Tour Discover feature to its ride-sharing app, enabling users to find popular routes that start at a specific location.
The feature uses a new map interface to display rides, walks and runs suggested through community activity. These can be searched for via current location, address or a dropped pin.
Komoot says it has over 5.5 million Tour recommendations globally, with the app’s community continuing to add to this daily.
The new Tour Discovery has filters for elevation, duration and distance enabling users to pick the right route for them.
There are also difficulty settings, which split routes up into easy, intermediate and expert.
Users can also decide on whether to make their ride a loop or an out and back, or whether they want to ride on a paved or unpaved surface.
Komoot says this will help users to receive suggestions to fit their needs and preferences.
The map interface displays routes that start at a location and includes animated direction markers within the Tour to keep you going in the right direction.
It will also display highlight routes, which are popular community routes that have different (but nearby) start locations.
Tour Discover can be found on the Discover feed on Komoot’s web page or app under the ‘find your next adventure’ button.
Once users have found their desired route they can decide to start navigating or customise the route in the Tour Planner section.
