OneUp Components has released its new V3 Dropper Post, featuring a shorter stack length, lighter weight and easier servicing.

The new dropper post offers infinite adjustability and is 60g to 70g lighter (depending on size) than the V2 Dropper Post it replaces.

Prices start at £291.99 / $269.99 / €291.99 for the post only, with the remote priced at £44.99 / $44.99 / €49.99. Both can be bought together for £320.99 / $299.99 / €324.99.

The previous version of OneUp’s Dropper Post was very well received, with the post being awarded a rare 5 stars when we tested it.

The brand says it has built on the positives of the V2 dropper, while developing the V3 Dropper Post from the ground up.

The new dropper is said to have a 75 per cent reduction in breakaway force, making for an easier and smoother actuation.

This is facilitated by a new cartridge design and bushings with increased overlap to reduce friction.

OneUp says it has also developed new seals for the dropper that use a custom SKF wiper seal to keep water and dirt from ingressing and grease from escaping.

To decrease rotational play, the brand says it has doubled the amount of anti-rotational and added two oversized polymer pins to the dropper’s internals.

Minimal maintenance

The V3 Dropper Post looks to be easily serviceable, with the brand claiming it can be dismantled in less than 10 minutes with common tools found on a multi-tool – a 14mm, 5mm and 2mm Allen key wrench.

This comes alongside longer service intervals, with the recommendation being 120 hours for a ‘clean and grease’, and 350 hours for a rebuild.

OneUp also says its new cartridge is 100% recyclable for when you need to replace it.

The dropper comes in 30.9mm, 31.6mm and 34.9mm diameters, and 90mm, 120mm, 150mm, 180mm, 210mm and 240mm-travel options with infinite adjustability, enabling you to run the dropper on various frame sizes.

Slighter and lighter

OneUp claims the weight ranges from 325g to 408g, depending on the diameter of the post for the 90mm-travel post, while the 240mm post ranges from 585g / 765g.

There is also a Ti Bolt upgrade kit for those looking to add some more bling to their post and save a couple of grams.
