Strava’s Best Efforts feature was previously only available for runners
Strava has announced it is bringing Best Efforts to its Ride function, enabling cyclists to see their best efforts for distance, cumulative elevation gain, biggest single climbs, power and time for relevant intervals.
Best Efforts will be measured across outdoor and indoor cycling, and will range between 10km and 180km, and from 5 seconds to 2 hours for power and time.
Until now, the feature was only available in the running function of the app.
Paid subscribers will be able to access the data starting today, with some riders already familiar with the new feature during testing rolled out by the cycling software company.
Strava says it can be found near the bottom of the athlete’s ‘You’ page on the cycling and fitness app.
The new functionality tracks an athlete’s top three efforts in five categories and synthesises the cycling data to help the rider contextualise progress and performance.
Best Efforts will give riders the ability to view their best power outputs at intervals from 5 seconds to two hours.
Strava says it’s easy to click through to see the activity on which you produced your Best Effort.
The feature will backtrack through all the activities you’ve uploaded to Strava to locate your best efforts.
In addition to displaying your top three efforts, you can also open the ‘View analysis’ page, which will give you a year-over-year progress graph to see how you’re developing
