Cane Creek has launched the eeSilk stem with 20mm of tunable compliance.<\/p>\n

The stem joins the eeSilk product range, which also consists of the eeSilk seatpost<\/a> that similarly provides 20mm of squish via a parallel linkage elastomer. Cane Creek also offers a gravel<\/a> variety of the seatpost, which ups compliance to 35mm.<\/p>\n

The brand claims the new eeSilk stem will \u201cnoticeably reduce vibrations on variable surfaces\u201d.<\/p>\n

The stem features a \u2018Compliance Switch\u2019, which is controlled by a single bolt. This allows riders the binary option of a soft or firm setting. The firm setting doesn\u2019t completely lock the spring out.<\/p>\n

The eeSilk stem will retail for \u00a3219.99 \/ \u20ac249 \/ $229.99.<\/p>\n

Elastomer options and a \u2018launch\u2019 edition<\/h2>\n

The eeSilk will be available in 80, 90 and 100mm stem lengths<\/a>. Each stem includes three elastomers \u2013 a stock option, and one softer and firmer alternative.<\/p>\n

If you want to change the elastomer, it\u2019s a case of undoing the single 4mm bolt, mounting the new spring and torquing it up to 2Nm, with no handlebar removal necessary.<\/p>\n

Cane Creek tells us the elastomers should last around two years, but that could vary depending on rider weight, conditions and the frequency with which you ride. The brand says it will have elastomers available for after-market purchase.<\/p>\n

Claimed weights are between 225 and 235g. The stems use a 31.8mm clamp and are only available in +6 degree rises.<\/p>\n
