Schwalbe has released a 38mm-wide version of its Pro One tyre, that will be specced exclusively on the new Scott Solace eRide<\/a> \u2013 for the time being.<\/p>\n

The tyre, made especially for Scott\u2019s new electric road bike<\/a>, will eventually be available to buy aftermarket.<\/p>\n

The chunkiest Schwalbe Pro One TLE <\/a>was previously 30mm for 700c wheels<\/a>. The 38mm Pro One is wider than the majority of road bike tyres<\/a>, yet narrower than most gravel bike tyres<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Trek released the 2023 Domane+ SLR<\/a>, another electric road bike specced with 40mm tubeless tyres<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This reflects the trend for all-road bikes<\/a> and fast gravel bikes<\/a>, which are more adept at gravel racing<\/a> than rooty singletrack.<\/p>\n

Scott has provided precious few details on the Pro One 38mm, other than that you will be able to buy it separately from Schwalbe.<\/p>\n

This is not the first time Schwalbe has tantalisingly teased an as-yet-unreleased Pro One at a Scott launch.<\/p>\n

In 2019, the first disc-brake<\/a> only Scott Addict RC <\/a>had Schwalbe prototype tyres<\/a> in a new 28mm width.<\/p>\n

A tan-wall Schwalbe Pro One<\/a> was briefly available to buy in Australia only, to the dismay of colourful sidewall devotees elsewhere.<\/p>\n

Back in April, at London\u2019s Cycle Show<\/a>, we spotted a white Schwalbe Pro One x Spartacus tyre<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The collaboration between the German brand and cobbled classics legend Fabian Cancellara was limited to 2,000 pieces.<\/p>\n
