Inevitably, my Gear of the Year<\/a> for 2022 is dominated by items that appeal to my very specific tastes in bikes \u2013 namely go-fast road-cycling kit, plus anything related to smart trainers, power meters or data.<\/p>\n

As the joke goes, have your \u2018von Bromley bingo card\u2019 at the ready, and well done to anyone who gets a full house\u2026<\/p>\n

You might be surprised by the last pick on this list, though.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s food for thought for 2023, and although I don\u2019t expect to come back this time next year as a completely different cyclist, it\u2019s certainly given me a nudge to expand my riding horizons.<\/p>\n
