One of the best parts of being BikeRadar\u2019s senior tech editor (aside from riding lots of great bikes) is the range of riding it offers.<\/p>\n

This year, more than any other, I had the opportunity to ride everything from full-suspension gravel bikes, such as BMC\u2019s URS LT One<\/a>, to gorgeous lightweight race rigs including Bianchi\u2019s impeccable Specialissima<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Then there were the sensible commuters, plus the weird and the wonderful, such as BMX-style electric bikes from GT<\/a> and Zooz<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also been a great year for kit and components, so getting my picks down to only\u00a0five has been tough.<\/p>\n

There have been brilliant components such as Zipp\u2019s 101 wheelset<\/a> and Selle Italia\u2019s extremely light (and long-named) SLR Boost Tekno Superflow<\/a> saddle.<\/p>\n

Tech such as Hammerhead\u2019s Karoo 2<\/a> GPS and Garmin\u2019s value-packed Explore 2<\/a> run things close too.<\/p>\n

All that has informed my five best bits of kit and componentry from a packed 2022. I\u2019m already excited about what\u2019s on the horizon for 2023\u2026<\/p>\n
