The Swiss brand says the fork steerer tube can break suddenly, \u201ccreating a possible fall hazard\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The stop-ride notice does not pertain to bikes purchased in North America or Australia.<\/p>\n<p>The affected models are:<\/p>\n<ul><li>Scott Speedster 40<\/li>\n<li>Scott Contessa Speedster<\/li>\n<li>Scott Gravel 35 Speedster<\/li>\n<li>Scott 50 Speedster Gravel 40 EQ<\/li>\n<li>Scott Speedster Gravel 50<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Owners of these bikes should stop riding them immediately and hand them into an authorised Scott dealer. The fork will be replaced free of charge.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson said: \u201cScott internal testing found traces of cracking within the fork steerer. No case of injury or breakage has been reported in the market.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Scott says it sold 1,985 units of the impacted models, manufactured in Hungary and China, between October 2021 and March 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The full recall notice runs below.<\/p>\n<section class=\"&quot;highlight\"> <div class=\"&quot;highlight__content\" editor-content=\"\"> \n<h4>Scott Speedster recall notice<\/h4>\n<p>\u201cIn cooperation with national recall authorities, Scott is voluntarily recalling approximately 2,000 Scott Speedster Road and Gravel bikes from the 2022 collection.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cScott is conducting this recall due to an in-house finding that the steerer tube\/fork bridge can break, creating a possible fall hazard.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo date, there have been no accidents nor injuries reported as a result of the possible breakage, nor reports of failure in the markets on the 2022 Speedster Road and Gravel bikes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe recall affects Scott Speedster 40, Speedster 50, Speedster Gravel 40 EQ, Speedster Gravel 50 and Contessa Speedster Gravel 35 EQ bikes from the 2022 collection.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese bikes have been sold in retail and online stores during 2022 in Europe, Asia and South America.
