Canyon has lowered the price of the majority of its unassisted and electric bikes.<\/p>\n

The Aeroad, Ultimate, Grail and Spectral are now up to \u00a3400 cheaper on the Canyon website.<\/p>\n

The German brand says the price drops are permanent and not part of a short-term sale.<\/p>\n

Canyon has a reputation for value for money, often attributed to its direct-to-consumer business model. Canyon is also almost exclusively online-only, having just one physical store at its Koblenz headquarters.<\/p>\n

The bike industry appears to be shifting away from relying on bike shops and distributors, with Specialized<\/a> and Giant<\/a> recently introducing the option to buy bikes directly from their websites.<\/p>\n

Canyon\u2019s price cuts buck a global trend of rising bike prices since the Covid pandemic began<\/a>. In some cases, UK cyclists have saddled bigger cost hikes due to Brexit and last year\u2019s Sterling slump, which have made imports more expensive.<\/p>\n

The rise of electric bikes<\/a> also saw us review our most expensive mountain bike yet last year, the Trek Fuel EXe 9.9 XX1 AXS<\/a>, while the new Scott Lumen eRide 900 SL<\/a> comes in at \u00a314,699.<\/p>\n

How much can you save?<\/h2>\n

From the small sample below, the savings on the following bikes are in the region of five per cent, far from dramatic but cheaper nonetheless.<\/p>\n
