The current-generation SuperSix Evo <a href=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/news\/cannondale-supersix-evo-2020\/&quot;\">launched in June 2019<\/a>, so it\u2019s about the time we\u2019d expect Cannondale to refresh its flagship race bike.<\/p>\n<p>Spy shots show the bike has seen aerodynamic tweaks to the tube profiles. The seat tube looks to be more aggressively shaped with a matching seatpost and the seatstays appear to be dropped further.<\/p>\n<p>The front end has been simplified and tyre clearance has been boosted. href=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/reviews\/bikes\/road-bikes\/specialized-s-works-tarmac-sl7-review\/&quot;\">Specialized Tarmac SL7<\/a> is now nearly three years old.<\/p>\n<p>Specialized typically revamps its models on a three-year cycle, so there\u2019s a strong likelihood we\u2019ll see a new Tarmac this season.<\/p>\n<p>The brand amalgamated the lightweight properties of the Tarmac SL6 and the aerodynamic \u2013 but now discontinued \u2013 Venge into a single package with the SL7.<\/p>\n<p>However, the Tarmac SL7 isn\u2019t as light as the SL6, nor is it as slippery in the wind as the Venge was.<\/p>\n<p>Specialized may well double down on chasing weight savings with an SL8, although the <a href=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/news\/2021-specialized-s-works-aethos\/&quot;\">Aethos<\/a> is the brand\u2019s dedicated lightweight bike.<\/p>\n<p>The Tarmac may equally head in an aerodynamic direction, especially now <a href=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/features\/tech\/2023-uci-rule-changes\/&quot;\">the UCI has scrapped its own 3:1 frame design rule<\/a>. But then, wouldn\u2019t it make sense to just call it the Venge?<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll certainly be watching with eagle eyes to see which direction a Tarmac SL8 heads in.<\/p>\n<p>While we\u2019re at it, the <a href=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/reviews\/bikes\/road-bikes\/specialized-roubaix-comp-ultegra-review\/&quot;\">Roubaix<\/a> is also past its three-year cycle \u2013 could we see isn\u2019t a current Aeroad\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The frame features aerodynamic tubing and looks to closely resemble the brand\u2019s current offering. It appears to have a revised head tube profile, as well as a different seat tube design. coy about such a prospect, the \u00c9monda is ripe for an update.<\/p>\n<p>The Madone received a radical refresh last year with its striking IsoZone seat tube. <a aerodynamic frame.<\/p>\n<p>Of its three flagship (and anagrammatic) road bikes, that makes the \u00c9monda, <a href=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/reviews\/bikes\/road-bikes\/trek-emonda-slr-9-etap-review\/&quot;\">last updated in June 2020<\/a>, start to look a little long in the tooth.<\/p>\n<p>The current \u00c9monda saw a shift from the brand\u2019s all-out lightweight agenda, incorporating some aerodynamic tube profiles.<\/p>\n<p>We might see Trek further drop the weight, given the current \u00c9monda SLR has a frame weight of 698g in a size 56cm \u2013 38g heavier than its equivalent predecessor.<\/p>\n<p>We also expect to see an increase in comfort, considering the current generation last year, significantly increasing compliance, decreasing weight and improving aerodynamic performance.<\/p>\n<p>Senior technical writer Simon von Bromley came away particularly impressed in his <a href=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/reviews\/bikes\/road-bikes\/2023-giant-propel-advanced-sl-0-review\/&quot;\">Giant Propel review<\/a>, but the changes to the bike make it unclear what role the TCR plays in Giant\u2019s range.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s only a hair lighter than the Propel and has slightly wider tyre clearance, but other than that, there\u2019s arguably little to discern between the two.<\/p>\n<p>If Giant does have an update in mind for the TCR, we expect it will double down on reducing weight, seeing as the Propel covers all the other bases.
