Trail bike comes in standard and short-travel versions for a playful and responsive ride <\/p>

GT has announced its new Sensor trail bike line-up, with updated geometry, internal cable routing and refreshed Linkage Tuned suspension.<\/p>\n

The trail bike will be available in two variations, the Sensor and Sensor ST.<\/p>\n

The Sensor is available with a carbon frame that has 140mm of travel<\/a>, paired with a 150mm fork; or an aluminium frame with 130mm of rear travel and a 140mm fork. All models feature 29in wheels<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The range starts at \u00a32,200\/$2,300 for the GT Sensor Sport, with the carbon-framed Sensor Carbon Elite starting at \u00a33,400\/$3,800.<\/p>\n

GT says the Sensor ST has progressive geometry<\/a> and is aimed at anyone who considers themselves an \u201call-day adventurer\u201d or \u201canyone looking for a playful and responsive ride\u201d. It has 120mm of rear suspension<\/a> and a 140mm suspension fork.<\/p>\n

The GT Sensor ST is only available with a carbon frame and starts at \u00a33,350\/$3,900 for the Elite-level build, with the top-level Pro priced at \u00a34,000\/$5,000.<\/p>\n

GT says the Sensor\u2019s carbon frame is 600g lighter than before, with the trail bike<\/a> now featuring carbon seatstays and a redesigned front triangle.<\/p>\n

The bike still features aluminium chainstays, with full-length rubberised protectors said to minimise chain noise when descending.<\/p>\n

The outgoing GT Sensor<\/a> featured a flip chip, which enabled you to adjust the bike\u2019s head angle and bottom bracket height, though it appears to have been removed from the new framesets.<\/p>\n

The new carbon frame features \u2018tube-in-tube\u2019 internal cable routing, which is said to ease the routing of cables because the ports are connected through the frame.<\/p>\n

All models feature a rubber frame protector to keep the down tube damage-free when sliding over rocks.<\/p>\n

The new Sensor frames now feature SRAM\u2019s Universal Derailleur Hanger<\/a>, making them compatible with SRAM\u2019s new T-Type Transmission<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Unlike the previous model, the new GT Sensor has different travel depending on the frame material<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The carbon bike features a slacker head angle of 65 degrees compared to the 65.5 degrees found on the aluminium model, which stays the same as the previous generation.<\/p>\n

All bikes see an increase in reach measurement, with the carbon frame rising by 100mm to 455mm and the aluminium frame 50mm to 450mm for a medium-sized frameset.<\/p>\n
