Brand’s first aluminium bike in six years features Shimano EP motor and TRP components <\/p>

The new Intense Tazer Alloy is an electric enduro bike with aggressive geometry, a mullet wheel setup and 155mm of rear-suspension travel.<\/p>\n

The new electric mountain bike<\/a> is available in two incarnations. The Pro model uses Shimano\u2019s EP800 electric bike motor<\/a> with a 630Wh battery, while the Expert bike gets the EP600 connected to a 504Wh battery.<\/p>\n

The Intense Tazer Alloy Pro is priced at \u00a35,499\/$7,499\/\u20ac5,999 and the Tazer Alloy Expert is \u00a34,499\/$6,499\/\u20ac4,999.<\/p>\n

Intense says the Tazer Alloy Pro will be available in early August, with the Expert model following in September.<\/p>\n

Sticking with aluminium roots<\/h2>\n

The new bike is Intense\u2019s first aluminium bike in six years. The American brand says it harks back to its roots, with the hydroformed 6061 T6 alloy frameset bringing the durability and aesthetics of its original bikes to the Tazer Alloy.<\/p>\n

The new frame is now Universal Derailleur Hanger<\/a> compatible, enabling SRAM\u2019s new Transmission groupsets<\/a> to be installed.<\/p>\n

The Tazer employs the brand\u2019s signature JS Tuned suspension system, which uses two short, counter-rotating links. Intense says this setup offers the ability to fine-tune shock rates and wheel path.<\/p>\n

The battery is integrated into the down tube and can be removed for separate charging. A rubberised down tube protector should help fend off rock strikes and shuttle rub when transporting the bike.<\/p>\n

The rear triangle also features protection, with the chainstays and seatstays featuring chain-slap deadening rubber and the bridge sporting an integrated mudguard that extends from the chainstay.<\/p>\n

Intense has given the Tazer Alloy integrated cable routing, with the ports featuring on either side of the down tube. There is also space in the front triangle for a water bottle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Intense says the new Tazer Alloy shares a similar geometry to the carbon-fibre framed bike, with head angles remaining similar around the 64-degree mark.<\/p>\n

There are subtle geometry differences between the models, with the Tazer Alloy Pro featuring a 64.6-degree head angle and the Expert a 64.8-degree head angle for a large-sized frame.<\/p>\n

Reach measurements appear up-to-date, with the Pro 465mm and the Expert slightly longer at 467mm.<\/p>\n

Chainstay lengths remain the same across the models and sizes at 450mm.<\/p>\n
