The search is on to find the cyclists who have contributed most to the sport in 2023\u00a0 <\/p>

Who\u2019s your Rider of the Year? Is it the MTB racer turning heads on the trails this season, the multi-day gravel adventurer achieving great feats or your favourite YouTube star who makes you want to get out riding? Perhaps it\u2019s one of the unsung heroes of the sport, or a community or club champion who puts in the work to make things better for everyone.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll be looking to celebrate those riders who have made a significant contribution to the MTB scene this year, whether they\u2019ve been reaching the top of the podium, doing remarkable work in their community to get riders into mountain biking or have broken through in a spectacular way!

To kick things off, we want your suggestions, in three categories:<\/p>\n
Rider of the Year<\/li>\n
Newcomer of the Year<\/li>\n
Lifetime Achievement Award<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Then, a panel of expert judges from Cycling Plus<\/em> and MBUK<\/em> will draw up<\/span> shortlists, before the first two categories are put to a public vote on 1 September, <\/span>while the <\/span>recipient<\/span>\u00a0of the Lifetime Achievement Award will be decided by <\/span>our<\/span> expert <\/span>panel.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
Winners will be revealed at an exclusive ceremony in November held at the Bristol head office of BikeRadar, Cycling Plus<\/em> and MBUK<\/em>, supported by <\/span>Wiper and True<\/span><\/a> brewery<\/span>,<\/span> and in the December issue of the magazines.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A rider who\u2019s had a significant impact or made a big difference to the mountain bike scene in 2023. This could be through competing (amateur or professional), taking part in an event or adventure, leading a group or community, or any other contribution to the sport.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
MBUK Newcomer of the Year Award<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n
A rider who\u2019s burst onto the mountain bike scene in the past year and had a significant impact or made a big difference. Nominees can be any age and don\u2019t have to be new to the sport, but most MBUK<\/em> readers should have been unfamiliar with them prior to 2023, and they must have made a significant achievement or breakthrough this year that deserves recognition.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
MBUK Lifetime Achievement Award<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n
A veteran of the sport and someone who\u2019s regarded as an absolute legend, either by mountain bikers as a whole, the mountain biking industry or their riding community.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
Cycling Plus Rider of the Year Award<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n
We\u2019re looking for the cyclist who has made a significant impact in 2023, whether through competing at an amateur level, taking part in an event or adventure, leading a group or community, or any other contribution to the sport of cycling.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
Cycling Plus Newcomer of the Year Award<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n
The same criteria apply, but we\u2019re after someone who wasn\u2019t a big name in 2022, and maybe still isn\u2019t. They don\u2019t necessarily have to be young or new to the sport, but they will have done something special in 2023 that deserves recognition.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
Cycling Plus Lifetime Achievement Award<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n
The winner will be a veteran of the sport and someone who\u2019s known as legendary for their club contributions, epic cycling efforts or work in the cycling community.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
