This is claimed to have the assistance of a full-power MTB but the weight of a lighter one. Tom&#8217;s initial verdict is impressive, but keep tuned for a full review soon.<\/p><p>Canyon has also announced a new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/news\/2024-canyon-spectral-cf-range\">Spectral CF trail bike<\/a>, fitting its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/news\/canyon-syntace-kis-self-centring-steering-stabilisation-system\">K.I.S. steering damper system<\/a> to all models. Luke&#8217;s swung a leg over the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/mtb\/canyon-spectral-cf-9-first-ride-review\">CF 9 version<\/a>, loving its predictable, composed and fun handling.<\/p><p>Scott joined Cannondale with an SL ebike in the guise of its new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/reviews\/bikes\/electric-bikes\/scott-voltage-eride-900-tuned-first-ride-review\">Voltage eRIDE<\/a>. This uses TQ&#8217;s mid-power motor and hides the shock in its down tube, much like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/news\/2024-scott-ransom\">newest Ransom<\/a>. Nick Clark brought us a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/reviews\/bikes\/electric-bikes\/scott-voltage-eride-900-tuned-first-ride-review\">first-ride review<\/a>. <\/p><p>SRAM has also put out a new product \u2013 its gravity-focused <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/news\/sram-maven-brakes\">Maven brakes<\/a>. While this shaves grams, it&#8217;s also claimed to be stiff enough to create razor-sharp steering.<\/p><p>Next up is the all-new OTX14 damper. This has been created specifically for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/advice\/fitness-and-training\/cross-country-racing-guide\">XC racing<\/a> and features open, pedal and lockout modes, switched by an optional remote or external adjuster. This refers to the rear suspension&#8217;s kinematics, specifically how much force it requires to compress the shock as it moves through its travel.<\/p><p>The TXC2Air should suit bikes with more linear kinematics, or that have less in-built ramp-up or progression.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1707\" src=\"https:\/\/c02.purpledshub.com\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2024\/02\/Ohlins-TXC2Air-mountain-bike-air-shock-2-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"O\u0308hlins TXC2Air mountain bike air shock\" class=\"wp-image-817009\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Scott Windsor \/ Our Media<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>It does this thanks to a higher-volume air spring \u2013\u00a0compared to the TXC1Air \u2013 that can be adjusted using volume-reducer spacers. Adding spacers to the spring will increase its progressiveness.<\/p><p>Elsewhere, the twin-tube damper&#8217;s shim stacks have been tuned for XC racing.
