Adventure is at the heart of why we ride \u2013 and, even if we didn\u2019t know it at the time, why we started turning the pedals in the first place.<\/p>

Our adventures today may be more ambitious than those first few pedal strokes, but cycling has the innate ability to expand horizons.<\/p>

From stress-relieving weekend escapes to bikepacking rides you\u2019ve spent countless hours daydreaming about, little beats discovering the world \u2013 at home and further afield \u2013 on two wheels.<\/p>

Last week, we celebrated all things adventure on BikeRadar with seven days of wanderlust. Now, we\u2019re going to look back at some of our favourite stories from our writers over the past week.<\/p>

It\u2019s time to embrace your inner adventurer. Here are seven must-read features from Adventure Week on BikeRadar.\u00a0<\/p>

1) Katherine Moore\u2019s Sri Lankan bikepacking adventure<\/h2>

2) It\u2019s all about the bike<\/h2>

Sometimes, an adventure starts with a moment of inspiration \u2013 an unknown road or trail on a map, or a spark from the escapades of others. Sometimes, though, it starts with a bike \u2013 and the adventures that follow.<\/p>
BikeRadar\u2019s deputy editor, Jack Luke<\/a>, is ready for a year of adventure, having had his dream all-road bike built earlier this year.\u00a0<\/p>
Jack describes \u2018Brown Bike\u2019, as it\u2019s dubbed, as his \u201cvision of the perfect horizon-chasing multi-surface slaying adventurous overnight-trip specific road bike\u201d.<\/p>

3) Understanding the FKT phenomenon<\/h2>

FKTs \u2013 or Fastest Known Times \u2013 have become ultra-cycling\u2019s latest trend. An unofficial log of, you guessed it, the fastest known time on a given route.<\/p>
It\u2019s a phenomenon that combines remarkable feats of endurance, with a simplistic philosophy of self-supported, multi-terrain adventure.<\/p>
Molly Weaver is the custodian of Fastest Known Times UK<\/a>, the holder of eight UK FKTs and your guide in understanding exactly what FKTs are.\u00a0<\/p>
