As its WorldTour pedigree would suggest, the Synapse has tended to be racy for a long-distance machine.\u00a0<\/p><p>Accordingly, the Synapse Neo now uses the Bosch Performance Line SX drive unit, which is claimed to be the brand\u2019s lightest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/advice\/buyers-guides\/electric-bike-motors\">electric bike motor<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p><p>Bosch says the mid-drive Performance Line SX provides up to 600 watts of assist and 55Nm of torque while weighing just 2kg. This claimed weight includes a 400Wh battery, which is housed in the down tube.\u00a0<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2550\" height=\"1913\" src=\"https:\/\/c02.purpledshub.com\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2024\/04\/C24_Synapse_Neo_Carbon_Tech_0003.jpg\" alt=\"PowerMore 250 range extender on Cannondale Synapse Neo\" class=\"wp-image-825242\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The range extender battery attaches to the down tube bottle cage mounts. &#8211; Cannondale<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>To increase range, you can carry a 250Wh secondary battery.\u00a0<\/p><p>In accordance with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/advice\/buyers-guides\/electric-bike-laws\">electric bike laws<\/a>, the Performance Line SX helps you up to 25kph in Europe and 28mph in the US.\u00a0<\/p><p>The previous generation<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/advice\/buyers-guides\/best-electric-bikes\"> electric bike<\/a> used a 3.2kg drive unit with a 250W motor.\u00a0<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-full-carbon-road-and-all-road-builds\">Full carbon road and all-road builds\u00a0<\/h2><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2550\" height=\"1913\" src=\"https:\/\/c02.purpledshub.com\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2024\/04\/C24_Synapse_Neo_Allroad_Beauty_0001.jpg\" alt=\"Cannondale Synapse Neo Allroad\" class=\"wp-image-825238\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">There are now dedicated road and all-road versions of the Synapse Neo. &#8211; Cannondale<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>Cannondale has switched from alloy to carbon for the new Synapse Neo frame.\u00a0<\/p><p>Cannondale hasn\u2019t confirmed the weight, but this should make it significantly lighter.
