But for uphill traffic-light starts, you\u2019d be hard pressed to find a lighter option.\u00a0<\/p><p>True weight weenies will go for the 20-spoke rim, but 24- and 26-spoke options are also available.\u00a0<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-95g-folding-bike-handlebar\">95g folding bike handlebar<\/h2><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"8256\" height=\"5504\" src=\"https:\/\/c02.purpledshub.com\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2024\/04\/BEN9886.jpg\" alt=\"TLO Lowriser handlebar for Brompton T Line\" class=\"wp-image-828837\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Schmolke says its folding bike handlebar weighs less than 100g. &#8211; Ben Wiesenfarth \/ Schmolke<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/news\/brompton-t-line-2022\">titanium Brompton T Line<\/a> is already a light bike, with a claimed weight of only 7.45kg.\u00a0<\/p><p>Now you can make yours even lighter with the TLO Lowriser for Brompton T Line handlebar, which is said to weigh 95g in its narrowest width.\u00a0<\/p><p>This weight saving will cost you between \u20ac289 and \u20ac349 depending on spec.\u00a0<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"8256\" height=\"5504\" src=\"https:\/\/c02.purpledshub.com\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2024\/04\/BEN9897.jpg\" alt=\"woman riding Brompton with Schmolke parts on city streets\" class=\"wp-image-828838\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Upgraded with Schmolke parts, your Brompton will fly up urban inclines. &#8211; Ben Wiesenfarth \/ Schmolke<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>Schmolke says the Lowriser TLO will be comfortable to hold in the upright position used on folding bikes.\u00a0<\/p><p>The \u201cergonomically designed\u201d bar has a 15mm rise, 6-degree backsweep and middle section with a 280mm diameter.\u00a0<\/p><p>You can have a choice of 560mm, 580mm and 600mm widths, which keeps steering controlled, according to Schmolke.\u00a0<\/p><p>You can specify the rider weight limit you require when ordering \u2013 the maximum is 110kg.\u00a0<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-a-600mm-159g-seatpost\">A 600mm, 159g seatpost\u00a0<\/h2><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"5504\" height=\"8256\" src=\"https:\/\/c02.purpledshub.com\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2024\/04\/BEN9885.jpg\" alt=\"Schmolke Seatpost TLO for folding bike\" class=\"wp-image-828887\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The Seatpost TLO for folding bikes costs \u20ac100 per 100mm of carbon. &#8211; Ben Wiesenfarth \/ Schmolke<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>Last but not least is the extraordinarily pricy Seatpost TLO for folding bike.<\/p><p>Schmolke caters for how folding bikes leave a lot of seatpost exposed, with a choice of lengths from 500mm to 650mm.\u00a0<\/p><p>Prices range from \u20ac550 to \u20ac610, or \u20ac100 per 100mm of carbon.\u00a0<\/p><p>Schmolke claims the 31.8mm diameter (the other is 34.9mm) in a 600mm length weighs 159g.\u00a0<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"8256\" height=\"5504\" src=\"https:\/\/c02.purpledshub.com\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2024\/04\/BEN9953.jpg\" alt=\"Woman placing folding bike into bike locker\" class=\"wp-image-828840\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Lifting your Brompton into a locker will be easier than ever. &#8211; Ben Wiesenfarth \/ Schmolke<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>Considering a typical carbon <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/advice\/buyers-guides\/seatposts\">road bike seatpost<\/a> weighs about 200g in a 350mm length, that\u2019s seriously light.\u00a0<\/p><p>Schmolke says it achieves this by varying the thickness of the carbon fibres.
