Garmin\u2019s latest option, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/reviews\/accessories\/lights\/back-light\/garmin-varia-rct715-radar-camera-rear-light-review\">Varia RCT715<\/a>, combines a rear light, radar and camera.<\/p><p>Over the past couple of years, we\u2019ve seen several competitor options hit the market, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/reviews\/accessories\/lights\/back-light\/magicshine-magene-seemee-508-radar-taillight-review\">Magicshine Magene Seemee 508<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/reviews\/accessories\/lights\/back-light\/bryton-gardia-r300l-radar-rear-light-review\">Bryton Gardia R300L<\/a>. Now Trek has joined the Fray with the CarBack.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Trek has added to the growing number of radar lights. &#8211; George Scott \/ Our Media<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>Taking a closer look at the Trek CarBack, as a light it has a maximum output of 90 lumens, with four modes: <\/p><ul><li>Day Flash (90 lumens)<\/li><li>Day Steady (25 lumens)<\/li><li>Night Steady (five lumens)<\/li><li>Night Flash (five lumens)<\/li><\/ul><p>Trek claims the Day Flash mode is daytime-visible from up to 2km away. <\/p><p>The brand has been something of a pioneer over the past decade when it comes to daytime-running lights, with the current <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/reviews\/accessories\/lights\/light-sets\/bontrager-ion-200-rt-flare-rt-light-set-review\">Trek Flare RT<\/a> one of our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/advice\/buyers-guides\/best-bike-lights-for-road-cycling\">favourite bike lights<\/a>.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1707\" src=\"https:\/\/c02.purpledshub.com\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2024\/04\/Trek-CarBack-Radar-Light_-3-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Trek CarBack Radar Bike Light\" class=\"wp-image-828937\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">A silicone strap provides secure attachment to a wide range of seatpost shapes and sizes. &#8211; George Scott \/ Our Media<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>In terms of its radar capabilities, Trek says the CarBack provides audio and visual alerts through your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/advice\/buyers-guides\/best-bike-computers\">GPS bike computer<\/a>. <\/p><p>With both ANT+ and Bluetooth connectivity, it can also connect with Trek\u2019s Accessory app to display the position of oncoming cars in real time if you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/advice\/buyers-guides\/bike-computer-vs-smartphone-vs-smartwatch\">ride with your phone as a bike computer<\/a>. If you keep your phone in your pocket, the app can provide audio alerts, Trek adds.<\/p><p>Other features include a four-bar LED battery gauge on the side of the light and a USB-C charging port.
