Lightest Canyon eMTB yet uses Bosch\u2019s SX motor to help it fly up climbs <\/p>

Canyon has entered the lightweight eMTB market with the new Neuron:ONfly \u2013 its lightest electric mountain bike yet, with claimed weights starting at 19.1kg. <\/p>

The Neuron:ONfly is powered by Bosch\u2019s Performance Line SX motor<\/a>, with 600W of peak power and 55Nm of torque. A 400Wh battery can be partnered with Bosch\u2019s 250Wh PowerMore range extender (sold separately).<\/p>

Canyon claims the Neuron:ONfly rides like a non-assisted mountain bike, but has the power of a full electric mountain bike<\/a>. In the brand\u2019s words, it offers \u201cthe best of both worlds\u201d.<\/p>

Like the non-assisted Neuron<\/a> and full-power Neuron:ON<\/a>, the new lightweight electric mountain bike<\/a> is designed to be a trail bike<\/a> through and through, packing 140mm of suspension travel<\/a>, 29-inch wheels<\/a> front and rear, and progressive geometry.<\/p>

Four models are available, from the base CF7 (\u00a34,649 \/ \u20ac4,849 \/ $5,499) through to the range-topping CF LTD (\u00a37,649 \/ \u20ac7,999) in five sizes from extra-small to extra-large. Only the CF7 will be available in the US.<\/p>

This weighs approximately 2kg and puts out a maximum 600W of assistance and 55Nm of torque.<\/p><p>Allied to this is a 400Wh CompactTube battery that’s integrated into the bike’s down tube. While it can be removed, you\u2019ll also need to take out the motor to do so.<\/p><p>It can be supplemented with a PowerMore 250Wh range extender, which is sold separately, for a total battery size of 650Wh. <\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1067\" src=\"https:\/\/c02.purpledshub.com\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2024\/04\/Canyon_Neuron_ONfly_CF_powermore2.jpg\" alt=\"Canyon Neuron ONfly CF full sus eMTB\" class=\"wp-image-829038\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">If the 400Wh CompactTube doesn’t provide enough range for you, a 250Wh PowerMore range extender can be added. – Karin Pasterer \/ Canyon<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>This takes the place of the bottle cage in the frame, so you\u2019ll have to choose between the range extender or a water bottle; you can\u2019t run both simultaneously.<\/p><p>Controlling it all is Bosch\u2019s System Controller and Mini Remote. This reduces the functions to the bare essentials. Different colours indicate the riding mode and show the state of the battery charge.<\/p><p>It can also connect wirelessly to the eBike Flow App via Bluetooth and use smart functions such as eBike Lock and eBike Alarm.<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\"><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Frame and geometry details<\/h2><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1066\" src=\"https:\/\/c02.purpledshub.com\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2024\/04\/Canyon_Neuron_ONfly_CF.jpg\" alt=\"Canyon Neuron ONfly CF full sus eMTB\" class=\"wp-image-829041\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The bike has an aggressive stance, with modern geometry and clean lines. – Karin Pasterer \/ Canyon<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>The CF carbon frameset is shared across all four models on offer. Both front and rear triangles are constructed from carbon fibre.<\/p><p>All models run on 29in wheels front and rear, and are not compatible with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/features\/what-is-faster-mullet-bike-29er\">mullet wheel setup<\/a>.<\/p><p>To help smaller riders fit the larger wheels, the XS size has reduced suspension travel front and rear. This is down to 130mm from 140mm on all other sizes.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1066\" src=\"https:\/\/c02.purpledshub.com\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2024\/04\/Canyon_Neuron_ONfly_CF_suspension.jpg\" alt=\"Canyon Neuron ONfly CF full sus eMTB\" class=\"wp-image-829040\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The rear-suspension design is similar to the non-assisted Neuron and heavier, full-power Neuron:ON. – Karin Pasterer \/ Canyon<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/features\/the-ultimate-guide-to-mountain-bike-rear-suspension-systems\">rear suspension<\/a> is a Horst-link design, with the bike sharing a similar silhouette to the heavier, full-power Neuron:ON. A rocker link with a shock yoke drives the shock mounted under the top tube.<\/p><p>This should give easy access to the rear shock’s pedal platform adjustment and leave enough room for a large water bottle or the PowerMore range extender.<\/p><p>The bike’s geometry is on the slack side for a trail bike, with a 64.5-degree head angle and 76.5-degree seat angle. The geometry is fixed with no built-in adjustment.<\/p><p>As is becoming common, the cables are all routed through the headset.<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/advice\/workshop\/sram-udh\">SRAM\u2019s Universal Derailleur Hanger<\/a> interface features at the end of the dropouts and a chain guide is fitted, along with
