Updated aero bike spotted at the Crit\u00e9rium du Dauphin\u00e9"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"rssexcerpt\">Subtle updates for Canyon&#8217;s new Aeroad, spotted ahead of the Tour de France <\/p><p class=\"rssauthor\">By <\/p><p class=\"rssbyline\">Published: Sunday, 02 June 2024 at 12:05 PM<\/p><hr class=\"no-tts wp-block-separator\"\/><?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\" standalone=\"yes\"?>\n<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC \"-\/\/W3C\/\/DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional\/\/EN\" \"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/REC-html40\/loose.dtd\">\n<html><body><p>Canyon has teased what appears to be a new Aeroad ahead of the Tour de France.<\/p><p>Team Movistar riders have been spotted at the Crit\u00e9rium du Dauphin\u00e9 \u2013 a key pre-Tour stage race, prestigious in its own right but often used as a \u2018warm up\u2019 \u2013 riding a slightly different Aeroad design, with two key changes.<\/p><p>The integrated front-end has a tell-tale giveaway in the form of Canyon\u2019s \u2018Gear Groove\u2019.\u00a0<\/p><p>This feature was first introduced on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/reviews\/bikes\/gravel-bikes\/canyon-grail-cfr-di2-review\">new Canyon Grail gravel race bike<\/a>, where an out-front mount, light or aero extensions can be attached to the handlebar via a dedicated mounting point.<\/p><p>While the new Aeroad\u2019s bar features the Gear Groove, it doesn\u2019t appear to use the same flared design at the drops as Canyon\u2019s current gravel cockpit.\u00a0<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The new Aeroad&#8217;s handlebar borrows the &#8216;Gear Groove&#8217; from Canyon&#8217;s Grail gravel bike. &#8211; Liam Cahill \/ Our Media<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>What the new bar does appear to retain from the existing Aeroad, however, is the width adjustment \u2013 which, on Canyon\u2019s current bars, allows the rider to tune their fit by 40mm.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1707\" src=\"https:\/\/c02.purpledshub.com\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2024\/06\/2025-Canyon-Aeroad-08-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"2025 Canyon Aeroad\" class=\"wp-image-865804\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">It&#8217;s a very clean front-end. &#8211; Liam Cahill \/ Our Media<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>The integrated bar also seemingly continues to offer stem height adjustment without the need to cut the steerer tube.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1707\" src=\"https:\/\/c02.purpledshub.com\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2024\/06\/2025-Canyon-Aeroad-14-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"2025 Canyon Aeroad\" class=\"wp-image-865808\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">We spotted the new bike at the Crit\u00e9rium du Dauphin\u00e9. &#8211; Liam Cahill \/ Our Media<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>Canyon introduced its system, which bears a fair resemblance to a quill stem, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/reviews\/bikes\/road-bikes\/canyon-aeroad-cfr-di2-review\">with the 2020 Aeroad<\/a>.
