The Norwegian company ReTyre is also showing the world\u2019s first carbon-neutral tyre at Eurobike.\u00a0<\/p><p>Hutchinson has also announced it will introduce recycled and bio-sourced material into all of its products by next year.<\/p><p>Hutchinson says its new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/advice\/buyers-guides\/best-gravel-tyres\">gravel tyre<\/a> offers the same performance and standard as the previous Touareg. It is also available for the same price of \u00a345.99 \/ \u20ac49.99.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-five-years-of-development\">Five years of development<\/h2><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The Touareg Green is manufactured using 57 per cent sustainable materials. &#8211; Stan Portus \/ Our Media<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>Hutchinson says it began developing the Touareg Green in 2019. It aimed to create a sustainable gravel tyre that maintains the same performance and price as typical gravel tyres.\u00a0<\/p><p>To achieve this goal, Hutchinson has developed two new compounds, a casing and tread, which use 90 and 64 per cent recycled or bio-sourced materials, respectively.\u00a0<\/p><p>The previous Touareg gravel went some way towards being sustainable. But Hutchinson says the proportion of sustainable materials used throughout the Tourag has risen from 15 to 57 per cent.\u00a0<\/p><p>Hutchinson says it didn&#8217;t want to create a tyre with a higher percentage of sustainable materials that impact performance or lead to a price increase.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1067\" src=\"https:\/\/c02.purpledshub.com\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2024\/07\/Hutchinson-Touareg-Green-Stan-Portus-2024070317.jpg\" alt=\"Tread on Hutchinson Touareg Green.\" class=\"wp-image-870657\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Hutchinson says the Touareg Green performs like its predecessor. &#8211; Stan Portus \/ Our Media<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>The French company now uses carbon black \u2013 a material used in tyres for stiffness and durability \u2013\u00a0 that is recycled and sourced in Europe. <\/p><p>Guillaume Trouvain, head of research and development at Hutchinson says: \u201c\u200bRaw materials are also a huge part of the transition to sustainability.
