Technical editor-in-chief Robin Weaver delivered his impressions in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/reviews\/bikes\/mountain-bikes\/full-suspension-mountain-bikes\/specialized-stumpjumper-15-pro-review\">first ride review <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/features\/opinion\/stumpjumper-evo-discontinued\">questioned why there is no new Specialized Stumpjumper EVO<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p><p>Sticking in mountain biking territory, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/news\/sram-s1000-eagle-transmission\">SRAM released cheaper Transmission components<\/a> \u2013 but they&#8217;re only available on complete bikes \u2013 and Merida announced its new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/news\/2024-merida-big-trail\">Big.Trail hardtail<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p><p>What about gravel? Well, the next-generation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/news\/2024-new-giant-revolt\">Giant Revolt<\/a> broke cover. It now features down tube storage, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/features\/tech\/the-truth-about-internal-cable-routing\">integrated cable routing<\/a> (make of that what you will\u2026) and, according to Giant, compliance-improving finishing kit.\u00a0<\/p><p>Onto the road, and the striking <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/news\/continental-aero-111-front-tyre\">Continental Aero 111 front tyre<\/a> was officially launched earlier this week. The Italian brand\u2019s process sees a saddle selected from pre-defined shapes and widths; Fizik then adjusts the stiffness based on the rider\u2019s pressure points.<\/p><p>The process with the Posedla Joyseat 2.0 starts with receiving a \u2018Smiling Butt Kit\u2019, which incorporates an impression foam that you sit on wearing tight underwear, with your legs at a 90 degree angle, transferring your weight into the foam.\u00a0<\/p><p>You then take images of the imprint with your phone, send these to Posedla and receive your custom saddle six to eight weeks later.\u00a0<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1707\" src=\"https:\/\/c02.purpledshub.com\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2024\/07\/BR_0340-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Posedla Joyseat 2.0 \" class=\"wp-image-870796\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">I&#8217;ve gone for a &#8216;Gravel&#8217; option. &#8211; Simon von Bromley \/ Our Media<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>When you\u2019re customising your saddle, you can choose between \u2018Road\u2019, \u2018Gravel\u2019, \u2018TT\u2019 and \u2018MTB\u2019, and depending on your imprint, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/advice\/buyers-guides\/how-to-choose-the-best-saddle\">saddle width<\/a> is customised between 130 and 170mm.\u00a0<\/p><p>Given I\u2019m <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/features\/opinion\/the-seven-serpents-ultra-endurance-race\">prioritising gravel ultra-endurance races<\/a> at the moment, I selected the gravel option.\u00a0<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1707\" src=\"https:\/\/c02.purpledshub.com\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2024\/07\/BR_0339-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"Posedla Joyseat 2.0 \" class=\"wp-image-870795\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">There&#8217;s plenty of carbon on show. &#8211; Simon von Bromley \/ Our Media<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>The lattice structure of the saddle consists of a recyclable thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) printed on an industrial 3D printer. The saddles feature 7x9mm carbon rails and are rated to a maximum weight of 100kg.\u00a0<\/p><p>Posedla says you can expect the saddle to weigh between 150 and 200g. The new products are designed to be mixed and matched for a range of off-road disciplines, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/advice\/buyers-guides\/best-cross-country-bikes\">cross-country mountain biking<\/a> (a first for MAAP).\u00a0<\/p><p>The Alt_Road Zip Tee is designed to blend the style of a tech tee and a conventional jersey, employing a full zip. MAAP wanted it to be lightweight, durable and fast-drying without compromising on comfort, and the jersey is also rated to UPF 30+.
