German brand\u2019s first cycling shoes have carbon soles and cost \u20ac329.95 <\/p>

Canyon has released its first cycling shoes, claiming the \u201cpodium-worthy\u201d Tempr CFR shoes \u201cstrike the sweet spot between speed and comfort\u201d. <\/p>

The Tempr CFR Road and Off-Road shoes have been ridden to victory by Zoe B\u00e4ckstedt in cyclocross<\/a>, Petr Vako\u010d on gravel<\/a>, Luca Schwarzbauer in cross-country mountain biking<\/a> and Dante Young on the road, according to the brand.\u00a0<\/p>

The shoes’ pricing is premium, as the ‘CFR’ acronym in their name suggests. <\/p>

CFR stands for Canyon Factory Racing, a label reserved for the brand’s highest-grade carbon frames, as seen on the Canyon Ultimate CFR<\/a>. <\/p>

The high-end shoes have carbon outsoles and are claimed to be competitively light. – Canyon<\/figcaption><\/figure>

Canyon\u2019s Tempr CFR Road cycling shoe<\/a> is available in white and black, costs \u20ac329.95 and is claimed to weigh 250g (size 42).\u00a0<\/p>

The Tempr CFR Off-Road shoe comes in black with a brown tread, or grey or white with a black tread, also costing \u20ac329.95 with a 290g claimed weight (size 42). Canyon says this SPD-compatible model doubles as a gravel shoe<\/a> and mountain biking shoe<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>

Both the Road and Off-Road shoes come in EU sizes 36-48, with half sizes from 40.5 to 46.5.\u00a0<\/p>

As usual for the direct-to-consumer brand, you can only buy the shoes from Canyon\u2019s website or app.\u00a0<\/p>

The Tempr CFR Road and Off-Road shoes feature a Purefit360 insole<\/a>, designed with Solestar.\u00a0<\/p>

This is claimed to mimic the shape of your foot, enabling it to return to a neutral position.\u00a0<\/p>

Together with the Tempr CFR\u2019s full-carbon outsole, Canyon says these features maximise power transfer while maintaining comfort. However, shoe stiffness might not be that important<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>

Each Tempr CFR model has two Boa dials. – Canyon<\/figcaption><\/figure>

Both Tempr CFR models use two anodised aluminium Boa Li2\u00a0 dials: one across the top of the instep and a second across the middle of the foot.\u00a0<\/p>

Canyon says it has developed the PerformFit Wrap system with Boa, which envelops your heel and arch, and secures your instep and heel.\u00a0<\/p>

Both shoes have a Solestar insole for comfort and efficient power transfer. – Canyon<\/figcaption><\/figure>

This prevents unwanted internal foot movement and removes pressure points around your foot arch, according to the brand.\u00a0<\/p>

Canyon claims the stretchy tongue material holds the foot securely.\u00a0<\/p>
