The Olympic road races takes place on Saturday 3 August for the men and Sunday 4 August for the women. <\/p>

Both start and end at the Place du Trocad\u00e9ro, taking in some punchy climbing in the \u00cele-de-France region around Paris. The race then returns to Paris for laps of an 18.4km finishing circuit, which includes a fierce climb on the Butte Montmartre.<\/p>

The men\u2019s Olympic road race is the longest ever at 273km with 2,800m of climbing, so get ready for a long session if you want to watch the whole thing live. <\/p>

It\u2019s a course that will favour the Classics riders, such as the host nation\u2019s Julien Alaphilippe and, of course, world champion Mathieu van der Poel.<\/p>

The women\u2019s road race takes place over 158km with 1,700m of climbing. It also starts and ends at the Place du Trocad\u00e9ro in central Paris. <\/p>

Favourites include world champion Lotte Kopecky \u2013 who is skipping the Tour de France Femmes<\/a> in favour of the Olympics \u2013 and Lorena Wiebes, who will lead the Netherlands team.<\/p>

In the UK, the BBC will cover the men\u2019s and women\u2019s road races. <\/p>

‘BBC 1\u2019s coverage darts between cycling and a range of other events, but there\u2019s dedicated coverage of the cycling on Olympics Extra on the red button.<\/p>

Coverage of the men\u2019s race begins on Saturday 3 August from 10:00, running until 16:45.<\/p>

Coverage of the women\u2019s race begins on Sunday 4 August from 13:00, running until 17:30.<\/p>

If you can\u2019t watch live, there\u2019s on-demand coverage on BBC iPlayer and online.<\/p>

There’s also coverage on Eurosport\/discovery+. <\/p>

Men\u2019s road race coverage begins on Saturday 3 August, running from 10:00 to 17:15 UK time. There\u2019s high-definition coverage from 12:15 to 16:45 on Euro 4K.\u00a0<\/p>

Viewers in the US can enjoy coverage of the men\u2019s and women\u2019s races on NBC, NBCSN and Peacock.\u00a0<\/p>

Coverage of the men\u2019s race starts at 02:00 PDT, while women\u2019s race coverage begins from 05:00 PDT.<\/p>

You can watch on NBC on demand too \u2013 there’s no additional charge above your cable, satellite or telco TV provider’s subscription cost.<\/p>

In Australia, free-to-air coverage of the men\u2019s and women\u2019s Olympic road races is on ABC channel 9 and 9HD. <\/p>

Men\u2019s race coverage is on Saturday 3 August and starts at 19:00 AEST, while women\u2019s road race coverage is on Sunday 4 August beginning at 19:00 and finishing at 00:00 AEST. <\/p>
