You can now vote for your MBUK and Cycling Plus Rider of the Year and Newcomer of the Year winners <\/p>
The nominations are in, and after furious debate, the shortlists can now be revealed for this year\u2019s Rider of the Year awards, sponsored by Lezyne.<\/p>
But who\u2019s your Rider of the Year? Is it the rider who\u2019s seen success on the race track in 2024, a cycling activist or unsung hero, or the cyclist who inspires you to get out and ride?\u00a0<\/p>
Well, with three categories up for grabs, you can now vote for your MBUK<\/em> and Cycling Plus<\/em> Rider of the Year and Newcomer of the Year winners, while a panel of our expert judges will select Lifetime Achievement winners.<\/p> Your opinion counts, so check out the links below to see the full shortlists and vote for your winners!<\/p> Voting closes on Friday 11 October, so be sure to cast your vote before then in one or all the categories above.<\/p> Use the hashtag #rideroftheyear to tell us who you think should win.<\/p> Here\u2019s a reminder of each Rider of the Year category\u2019s entry criteria.\u00a0<\/p> A rider who\u2019s had a significant impact or made a big difference in 2024 to the mountain bike scene. This could be through competing (amateur or professional), taking part in an event or adventure, leading a group or community, or any other contribution to the sport.<\/p> A rider who\u2019s burst onto the mountain bike scene in the past year and had a significant impact or made a big difference. Nominees can be any age and don\u2019t have to be new to the sport, but most MBUK readers should have been unfamiliar with them prior to 2024, and they must have made a significant achievement or breakthrough this year that deserves recognition.<\/p> A veteran of the sport and someone who\u2019s regarded as an absolute legend, either by mountain bikers as a whole, the mountain biking industry or their riding community.<\/p> We\u2019re looking for the cyclist who has made a significant impact in 2024, whether through competing at an amateur level, taking part in an event or adventure, leading a group or community, or any other contribution to the sport of cycling.<\/p> A rider who\u2019s burst onto the road or gravel scene in the past year and had a significant impact or made a big difference.
